Hi! My name is Norlino Ramon S. Ongoco "Mon" for short. I am the site's Builder and Webmaster. I belong to the 4th generation Ongoco. My great grandfather iis Sixto Ongoco married to Isabel Oliveria. My granfather is Severino Oliveria Ongoco of Wawa, Abucay Bataan who is married to Silvestra Samson Caragay. My father is Tomas Caragay Ongoco married to Carmelita Dizon Sanchez of Cupang Balanga Bataan. (please visit my site at http://www.ramon-ongoco.yolasite.com)

The primary purpose of this site is to "gel" the different ONGOCO families as an organized clan to foster socio-economic well being for each family comprising the clan. The secondary purpose is for the clan to be able to contribute to the upliftment of the province of Bataan in particular and be part of nation building in general.

I believe that this is the opportune time to do carry out this undertaking as some of those from the 3rd generation are still around to provide us information and data in regards to our roots. I have witnessed the passing of relatives who may be a good source of information regarding our origin and I myself dont want to go without leaving a legacy to the future generations of Ongocos a legacy of the great its great heritage.

I am therefore asking all Ongoco from alll part of the globe to do their part in making this site a legacy to the present and future generations and in such manner give reverence and glory to our forefathers who has gone to the great beyond. We owe this to them as well.

Many thanks to those wo have contributed to the building of this site, to my father who at age 83 still has good memories of the past, to my uncle Benjamin Caragay Ongoco from Houston Texas who has been persistent to the building of this website to preserve our heritage and to other relatives whom I know shares the same interests.

 Bataan

Bataan (IPA: [bəˈtæn]) is a province of the Philippines occupying the whole of Bataan Peninsula on Luzon. The province is part of the Central Luzon region. The capital of Bataan is Balanga City and is bordered by the provinces of Zambales and Pampanga to the north. The peninsula faces South China Sea to the west and Subic Bay to the north-west, and encloses Manila Bay to the east.

The Battle of Bataan is famous in history as one of the last stands of American and Filipino soldiers before they were overwhelmed by the Japanese forces in World War II. The Bataan Death March was named for this province, where the infamous march started. This is also a location of Bataan Nuclear Power Plant located in Municipality of Morong.     Read more >>>

Bataan is associated with the 2nd World War; The Battle of Bataan, the Death March, the Dambana ng Kagitingan in Mt. Samat, but Bataan is more that the atrocities of war. It is more than the monuments built as a reminder of the galantry of the Filipino American Forces in their fight against tyrrany. Bataan is its people and the bounty of nature that the peninsula is blessed.
